The WebSphere Integration Developer’s programming model is based on Service Component Architecture. The user of WebSphere Integration Developer must be familiar with the basic concepts of SCA. Some of them are given below:

Component
A component configures a service implementation. A service component is presented in a block diagram as is shown in an upcoming section.

Modules
The building blocks of the business solution are components wired together to form modules that can be deployed to the WebSphere Process Server.

Libraries
Libraries can be used to define commonly used artifacts like interface and business object definitions in one place. Libraries can be included in Modules.

Interfaces
Interfaces define how to invoke SCA. The interface type may either WSDL or Java.

References
References define the interfaces through which one component “calls” other components directly of via Imports.
